There is a liberal arts college that is offering free college tuition to any one that applies over the next three years. How would you like to go to college for free?
It's true. Antioch College in Yellow Spring, Ohio is waving the tuition for new college students.
The cost of tuition there for one year is $26, 500 making the grant worth $106,000. The cost of room and board is $8628. For college student who apply for financial aid they will get an even greater reduction and be able to skip the cost altogether or pay a reduced price, based on their financial situation.
Why are they the offering free tuition
Is this a crazy act of compassion or what? Why would Antioch College do such a generous thing?
Antioch College was founded by abolitionists in 1850. The college shut down in 2008 because of poor management decisions that led to its decline. But college alumni could not stand that thought of such a wonderful institution being closed, that was founded on so much integrity.
So far Antioch has 35 new students that enrolled in 2011. Another 65 to 75 new college students are enrolled for this fall 2012. Their goal is to have another 300 signing up.
The college is known for its cooperative program, students will have numerous job chioces from international oportunites and here at home in the United States also.
Submission deadline is fast approaching
If you are a collge senio you still have time to get your application in. The deadline is February 15, 2012. For the up and coming highschool students, considering free tuition, put Antioch College on the top of your list.
Right now their site has crashed due to the overload of students coming to the site. They are working on getting it back up and running as soon as possible.
